Joe Cole told BT Sport that Javi Gracia should bench Leeds United player Illan Meslier because his poor play is impacting his team’s performance.
The 23-year-old Meslier let in two more goals to Leicester on Saturday. He was to blame for the first goal, allowing Harry Wilson to score off the underside of the Leeds crossbar after flapping at a cross from Willian.
When asked if Javi Gracia should make any changes in the starting line-up for the upcoming games, Cole said:
“Without a doubt, Gracia and his staff will be considering it. I would take him out.
“For the lad’s good, and for the team. It would be a positive move. When goalkeepers are not having it behind you, it changes what you do as a defender. It filters up the team. Robles, get him in the team, it’s a big call. I would do it.”
